The Faultily of Education has given me access to an abundance of knowledge when it came to what to teach, and how you should teach this information. During my learning journey I have had the opportunity to be taught by others and had the opportunity to learn myself by getting hands on experience.
I have also outlined goals I have created to give me something to work towards while I am working in my 3 week pre-internship.
1.I would like to give myself more time to finish my assignments before the week before it is due. This is something I struggled with this semester because I was not prepared for the workload of the semester.
2. I want to be able to critically engage with the readings I have assigned to me in class, but also additional readings my professors offer. As the semester continued I struggled to stay on top of my readings and I believe if I did the readings I would be more prepared for class.
3. I want to improve on creating my lesson plans, and also having them prepared in a more timely manner. The lesson plans I made this semester were not very detailed, and this was brought to my attention. I would like to improve on this s when my co-intern and I trade lesson plans she will be able to teach the material. The second issue I had was having my lessons completed more than one day in advance. Personally I would like to have a good outline for what I am teaching a month prior and then I can start preparing my lessons before I enter the classroom.
